January 28, 1945

Commonly, the time frame of “mid January 1945 and January 28th, 1945″ is given as the date for the relocation of 10./NJG 11 from Rechlin-Lärz to Burg near Magdeburg.[1]Zapf, Jürgen; Flugplätze der Luftwaffe 1934 – 1945 und was von ihnen übrig blieb; VDM Verlag; 2005; Page 54. Hard to say when the relocation really took place – the time-frame “End of January 1945 to early February 1945” might be closer to the fact though.

During the night from January 28th, 1945, to January 29th, 1945, 67 Mosquitos are attacking Berlin. All of them are returning to their bases safely.[2]Middlebrook, Martin et al.; The Bomber Command War Diaries; a.a.O, Page 656
